3 Ways To Take Care Of Your Skin After Botox: Injection and Filler Aftercare

When you’re spending time, energy, and money to look your best, your best outcomes include neurotoxin, such as Botox treatment, and Filler aftercare Use these 3 simple steps after your Botox or Dermal Filler treatment for your most successful and long-lasting results.

Simple Steps for Filler and Botox Aftercare

  1. Do not apply any old or dirty makeup to the injection areas. We recommend only using clean applicators, clean hands or skipping any makeup for the first 48 hours after treatment. Although unlikely, you will have micro punctures in your treated areas that could be a gateway for bacteria sitting on your dirty makeup that could lead to a skin infection called cellulitis.

  2. Invest in a good hyaluronic acid like Alastin's Immerse Serum. Or stop by our medical spa for Hydrinity Restorative HA Serum. Most dermal fillers work by absorbing water. The more you stay hydrated both by consuming water and by also applying it to your skin, the better your dermal filler will look!

  3. Don't work out for 24-48 hours after treatment. Working out or sweating increases blood flow throughout your body which can increase swelling and bruising. Although it is unlikely to mess up your injectables, swelling is uncomfortable and can be avoided by just taking it easy the first day or two. Also, a recent study showed that working out in the first 24 hours could reduce the amount of time your neurotoxin lasts!
